Our Team
Since 2008, the Focal 5 team has been actively engaged in the lower-to-mid market Mergers and Acquisitions arena, navigating every aspect of the process. Our professionals boast a long and impressive record of success, encompassing transactions such as selling and acquiring businesses of various sizes, facilitating next-generation transitions, and negotiating partnership buyouts. We collaborate with private equity groups, strategic buyers, as well as family offices. With a strong foundation in private business ownership, our team includes individuals who have founded, expanded, overseen, and divested their own enterprises.
Leadership
In the 1990s, Kurt Elliott began his career by founding and expanding a food retailing business, propelling it to over $32 million in revenues. In 1996, he transitioned his equity to employees through an ESOP. Since then, he has been devoted to assisting business owners in enhancing performance and augmenting their transferable value. He has long believed that every business owner should understand the value of their business on an ongoing basis so that when it’s time to get out, they get what they deserve. By 2008, after advising numerous business owners as a Consultant, Kurt began receiving requests to facilitate their business sales.
This marked the inception of Focal 5. Since its origination, Kurt has continued to push the boundaries of what Mergers & Acquisitions can do. He has instituted a family of services approach to M&A, establishing partnering relationships with industry experts who can quickly step into the process if needed. This facilitates an uninterrupted forward momentum. While deals at other firms may stagnate, Focal5 perseveres. This approach has yielded success across various industries, establishing Focal5 as a leading sell-side middle market leader nationwide.
